We have a saying here in Colorado in regards to the weather..."Only in Colorado." Only in Colorado will the sun shine while it is pouring rain. Only in Colorado will it be cold one minute, and sunny and warm the next. Only in Colorado will it snow in the middle of May. And snow it has been doing. This past Mother's Day saw those of us who garden out in the drizzling rain covering up our crops and newly planted seedlings in the hopes of saving them against any pending freeze, as well as turning on the heat lamps in the chicken coop and adjusting the thermostat to allow the heater to turn itself back on in the house (just when you thought you were done with it for the season). Weather in Colorado always manages to make us natives shake our heads and sigh and continue about our business (because there's really nothing that we can do about it anyways). The Monk is pleased as punch because he once again got to don his snow boots (which I had actually already put away in the closet for what I thought had been for good) and drop straight into the newly fallen powder to cast a late spring snow angel. While it isn't actually freezing and we do desperately need the moisture, it is these late and, often freaky, snow storms that we here in Colorado can't help but wonder...does Mother Nature have a sense of humor or what?
Family FunHere are the posts that I will keep of all of our family fun moments. We try to have them a lot and really enjoy our time together (esp. since we know that little ones become big so quickly). Archives
