| This week was actually rather relaxed (well, as relaxed as it gets around here). Since it was filled with a complete battery of testing for The Monk, we only had half days of school. Which worked out great because I had to babysit my mom's dog (Mom works and Sasha has a broken leg from getting hit by a car, so Mom needed someone to watch Sash to make sure she didn't just start jumping around and getting all crazy), and I was able to get some planning done for our next unit (I love Star Wars!). I was also able to finish up a quilt top (there's one more Christmas present off of my list). As I am planning for our next unit (which, is obviously, being based off of Star Wars), I'm finding that, while there are TON of Star Wars things out there, there really isn't a whole bunch to pull into the classroom (not at the elementary level anyway), so we're going to break down Hero's Journey (thank you Luke Skywalker for being you) for reading and do a Space and Solar System unit for science. Math, spelling, grammer, etc., all seem to take care of themselves since they are boxed curriculum, so that's always a help. Anyway, that's our week. Hope yours was lovely! |

How it all started...I was a public school teacher for 6 years in a very urban middle school for both 7th and 8th grade. As the red-tape got thicker and teaching became more of a business rather than a place to prepare young minds to enter into the world, I decided that if I was going to work that hard to give an education to someone, it should be my own son. So, my adventures in homeschooling has begun. Follow us on Instagram!
